Porsche 911 GT3 R
Overview
Developed by the Williams Formula One team and based on their F1 Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems (KERS), the Porsche 911 GT3 R is the first hybrid to race on a GT3 circuit. Two electric motors providing 80 horsepower each drive the front wheels to supplement the 480-horse four-liter flat-six engine in the rear.
The 911 GT3 R made its debut at the 2010 24 Hours Nurburgring race, but unfortunately had to withdraw due to mechanical problems with only 110 minutes remaining.
